# Convertify

> Free online image converter built with Rust and libvips. Supports 15 input formats and 15 output formats including HEIC, AVIF, WebP, JPG, PNG, PDF, TIFF, BMP, GIF, SVG, PPM, HDR, and FITS. No signup. No watermarks. No file size limits. Files deleted within 6 hours.

## What Convertify does

Convertify converts images in the browser — upload a file, choose an output format, quality, and optional resize preset, then download the result. All processing happens server-side in Rust using libvips. Batch conversion of up to 10 files at once is supported.

Convertify is one of the few online converters that supports scientific and HDR formats: FITS (used in astronomy), HDR/Radiance RGBE (used in 3D rendering and photography), and PPM (used in Unix image pipelines). It also handles HEIC and HEIF (Apple's default photo format), AVIF (next-generation web format), and PDF as both input and output.

## Resize presets

Convertify can resize images during conversion. Available presets:

- Original (no resize)
- 3840 × 2160 — 4K UHD
- 2560 × 1440 — 2K / QHD
- 1920 × 1080 — Full HD, YouTube
- 1600 × 900 — HD+
- 1366 × 768 — Laptop HD
- 1280 × 720 — HD, Streaming
- 1080 × 1080 — Instagram Square
- 1200 × 1200 — Marketplaces
- 800 × 800 — Avatars
- 1080 × 1920 — Story / Reels
- 720 × 1280 — Portrait HD
- 1024 × 768 — XGA
- 800 × 600 — Email, web
- 640 × 480 — Thumbnails

## Privacy

Files are processed over HTTPS. No files are stored permanently — deleted within 6 hours of upload or immediately after download. No account required. No personal data collected beyond what is necessary for conversion. Google Analytics is used for anonymous usage statistics only.

## Technology

- Backend: Rust + Axum
- Image processing: libvips (demand-driven streaming pipeline, no full file load into memory)
- Frontend: Next.js 16 SSG (PageSpeed 100/100)
- Server: VPS + Caddy
